2005-03-10 - 1:35 p.m. hey, it's been a while. before i get started, i wanna rant a little bit. i feel like some people try to hard to hate bands. i'm not trying to insult anybody. i just don't get the point. why put so much effort into hating a band? why not use that effort to support the bands you actually like? for example, let's say someone watched good charlotte at warped tour just to boo them. why waste your time when you could be watching a good band at another stage? yeah, i hate some bands, but i just ignore them and pay attention to bands that i like. it's much more enjoyable that way. anyway, i went home again last weekend. chris came too. friday we had a movie night at the hudaks. we watched the marx brothers, but it was kinda hard to pay attention cause everybody was talking and stuff, but that was ok. i still had fun and i got to play with balloon animals. woot! saturday, we got up and met with a bunch of people at little ceasars. we met for another one of corey's film projects. we did an infomercial for a product called zombie-away. it was a lot of fun. sarah and i played the cheesy couple with the zombie problem. i havn't seen the finished cut yet, but its really funny. then scantily plaid practiced. well, 3/5 of us. andrew couldn't make it and dave(even tho he was there) didn't have his guitar cause he let a friend borrow it, but its ok. we still got a lot done. its really coming together faster than i thought and hopefully we'll be playing shows next month. hopefully. that night we had another movie night, except it was at michael's house. we watched episodes of the tick(the live action series). man i love that show so much. then we watched part of the lost boys. we had pizza. we had laughs. good times. the next day i came back to radford. this week has been kind of hectic. i had an exam and i had to write a paper. when i came back from radford, carter had changed the room around a bit. he pulled out his loft from the wall and turned the couch around so it faces the wall and then put sheets around it. this has made the room quite crowded. i can't tell you how many times i've stubbed my toe this week(five). anyway, i've been wondering why he did that all week, until yesterday i found a note from carter taped to my chair. in the note, he said he had some food missing and then he basically accused me of stealing it. what?! i havn't touched his food. anyway, the note went on to list things of his that i'm not allowed to use anymore, which includes the couch, tv, microwave, alarm clock, fridge, ect ect, which is why the room is changed around. all because he thinks i stole his food. i think he just got stoned, ate it, and then forgot he ate it. ugh. just two more months. by the way, i wrote the paper on how much i hate him and i was told it was powerful. i don't know if it was powerful, but it sure was angry. on a positive note, i got a cool hat and spring break starts tomorrow! i've been paying attention to the ska band count for warped tour. so far 3 ska bands are confirmed, big d and the kids table(who will be on it all summer), the know how, and a new dub band called the dead 60's. according to the ska is rad forum on myspace, the fabulous rudies will soon be added to the list as well, which will make 4 ska bands. as far as i know, that's two more than last year(one more if you count the aquabats playing 3 dates on warped last year). could this mean the return of ska to warped tour? i sure hope so. oh and by the way, neville staple(formally of the specials) might be coming on warped with the fabulous rudies to sing a couple songs with them. the neville staple. thats awesome. another little fact about the fabulous rudies, their singer was raised in germany and on their lastest record they cover "99 red balloons" and she sings it in its original german. thats pretty sweet. monday was mine and sarah's 2 month anniversary. go us! link of the day: the fabulous rudies' website song of the day(1): the distillers - "dismantle me" song of the day(2): the planet smashers - "fabricated" song of the day(3): alkaline trio - "all on black" song of the day(4): the fabulous rudies - "finding understanding" quote of the day: "everyday i love her just a little bit more, a little bit more, a little bit more, and she loves me the same." -sublime and gwen stefani - "saw red" cheers. |
