2005-12-15 - 7:28 p.m.

oh man, we had a snow day today. normally i'd enjoy a snow day, but i was supposed to have my last 2 finals of the semester today. now i have one tomorrow at 9am, unless the weather is too bad. if it's too bad, then i have it monday at fucking 8am. bah. and then i have one on monday at 1pm. this is very not-so-awesome, extending my semester 2 more days. bah again.

when did the definition of hardcore change? it used to be bands like minor threat, black flag, old afi, the casualties, and the hypodermix were hardcore. now its sucky bands like norma jean and every time i die and a bunch of other bands that i can't remember cause they all sound the same to me. they're now hardcore and most of those other bands are now street punk. what happened there?

lots of things are happening in music that make me sad. i voted for kodos used to be a fantastic ska band. now they are a crappy synth/pop punk band.

and then there's plus 44. plus 44 is mark and travis from blink 182...and some girl. i finally heard a song by them yesterday and i was very disappointed. it's too depressing. hearing mark hoppus singing about slitting his wrists is just wrong...just wrong.

hawthorne heights sucks.

however, there are good things going on in music too. avoid one thing are on hiatus. yes, i like avoid one thing, but this could mean joe from avoid one thing is going back to the bosstones so they could come out of their hiatus. i miss the mighty mighty bosstones so bad.

warped tour is shaping up to be really good next summer. nofx, motion city soundtrack, aganist me!, anti-flag, and rise aganist are already on the bill. i'm excited to see against me! they're on my top 3 list of bands i need to see that i havn't seen yet, streetlight manifesto and the aquabats being the other two.

and there are a ton of awesome cds coming out next year from some awesome bands. next year is gonna be a good year.
